We can provide an interim clean of the apartment on request for an additional charge – ideal for longer stays. The price depends on the apartment’s size. Just ask if you’re interested!

Booking & payment
Can I book directly through the website?
You can send us a direct booking enquiry through the website. We’re a small, family-run business, and nothing makes us happier than hearing from guests directly! We don’t currently offer instant online booking – but it’s just as easy: send us a quick no-obligation enquiry, and we’ll come back with the perfect offer for your stay. Once we send our written confirmation and you’ve paid the deposit, your booking is confirmed.
How does payment work if I send you an enquiry?
We’ll send you our written booking confirmation along with a payment request for the deposit (20% of the accommodation rate). Once we receive it, your booking is confirmed. You can transfer the rest of the accommodation rate in advance or settle up on arrival – either in cash or by card (EC card, Visa or Mastercard). Please note, we’re unable to accept American Express, Discover or Diners Club.
Why do I need to pay a deposit?
The deposit gives us both peace of mind. For you, it locks in your apartment for the dates you want. For us, it confirms your stay, so we can plan around it. And of course, the deposit goes towards the total accommodation rate – it’s not an extra charge.
Can I cancel my booking?
You can cancel your booking free of charge up to 30 days before arrival, and we’ll refund your deposit in full. To cancel, simply e-mail us. Please understand that we cannot refund deposits for cancellations made within 30 days of arrival.
Food & free time
Is breakfast included?
We don’t serve breakfast at the Montoni Chalets, but we have a delicious alternative! Monday to Saturday, we can deliver fresh rolls right to your apartment every morning. Just tell us which kinds you’d like at check-in, and you’ll have wonderfully crusty bread waiting for you at breakfast time. From there, your fully equipped kitchen is yours to make breakfast exactly how you like it, at your own pace.
Is there a supermarket nearby?
Yes! It’s just a few minutes’ walk from your apartment to the centre of Prad am Stilfserjoch. There you’ll find two supermarkets (Eurospar and MPreis), plus everything else you might need during your stay: a pharmacy, chemist’s, bakery, post office and bank.
Do I need a car to get around?
A car is handy, but not essential. Prad am Stilfserjoch has excellent public transport links, with regular buses running to the region’s main attractions – including Sulden, Glurns and Stelvio National Park. In addition, the nearby Spondinig train station connects you by rail to many places across Vinschgau and South Tyrol, including Merano and Bolzano. Best of all, as our guest, you’ll receive the Südtirol Guest Pass, which lets you use all public transport across South Tyrol for free.
What can I do in summer?
Our unique location between Upper Vinschgau and the Stelvio Pass opens up a world of warm-weather adventures. Two easy hikes along the historic “Waalweg” irrigation trails set off right from our doorstep. For something more demanding, head into the high-Alpine landscape of Stelvio National Park, where the Ortler – South Tyrol’s highest peak – awaits. The famous Via Claudia Augusta cycle route traces an ancient Roman road straight through our village. And there’s plenty more to discover nearby: Churburg Castle, the medieval town of Glurns, Lake Reschen with its iconic sunken church tower, and the Prader Sand floodplain nature reserve, to name just a few.
What can I do in winter?
In winter, Vinschgau is a paradise for those who love skiing, cross-country skiing and tobogganing. Three ski areas are easily reachable from our apartments: Sulden, Trafoi and Watles. You can even take the public ski bus straight to Sulden – no car required. On sunny winter days, the surrounding meadows and woods make for wonderfully relaxed winter walks. And if you need a little break from the slopes, head out to the medieval town of Glurns, the elegant spa town of Meran or the Naturns adventure baths. But honestly? Our apartments are so cosy that a lazy day inside can be just as rewarding.
